Soft as a whisper and light as a feather, the Brunia Scarf knit up like a dream with Yarn Citizen Trinity Cashmere. This beginner-friendly lace pattern is just a 16-row repeat across 23 stitches—but with the right yarn, it feels like luxury at your fingertips.
I held the yarn double and used size 10 needles from my Lotus Yarns PAMIR Set (which I adore). Blocking brought the scarf to a final length of 62″ and width of 6″, and I still had 21g left from my second 25g skein. I’m planning to pair it next with Lotus Yarns Mongolian Cashmere DK in Stone Grey to knit a matching Salut Cheri Beret but Sari Nordlund—a pattern I’ve made many times and always love.
Why I Chose Trinity Cashmere
I love Trinity Cashmere for so many reasons, but especially for its Mindful Matter appeal. It’s made with:
- 49% Super Baby Alpaca
- 39% Mulberry Silk
- 12% Cashmere
This lanolin-free blend is soft enough for sensitive skin and strong enough to frog (yes, I had to backtrack more than once—no tangles, no tears!).
At just $17 per 25g skein at The Yarny Way, it brings sustainable luxury within reach. That price point isn’t an accident—it’s part of Yarn Citizen’s mission to keep beautiful yarn accessible and eco-conscious.
“As we grow, our collections will change but they’ll always be earth conscious and exceptionally affordable.”
— Yarn Citizen
The Story Behind the Yarn
Laura, Yarn Citizen’s founder, was visiting fair trade mills in Peru when she saw something that changed everything: mounds of leftover luxury fiber—the softest ends from shearing and spinning—destined for waste. These high-quality remnants could’ve been tossed or sold in bulk. Instead, she asked the mills to spin them into something new.
By reclaiming these fibers, Yarn Citizen gives them a second life—and gives us, the makers, something incredibly special to work with.

Next up? A coordinating Salut Cheri Beret using my leftover Trinity Cashmere + a strand of Mongolian Cashmere DK in Stone Grey. Cozy, classy, and conscious—my kind of vibe.
