January flew by in a blur of stitches, learning, and community, and February is shaping up to be just as meaningful. This month’s Dispatch starts with a bit of history, a bit of heart, and a lot of yarn.
❤️ Why the Red Hat Matters (and a February Yarn Special)
You may have seen red hats popping up in knitting circles lately and wondered what they represent.
Historically, red caps have symbolized resistance, solidarity, and care for human dignity. From the Norwegian resistance during World War II—where red knit caps were worn quietly in defiance—to earlier liberty movements, the color red has long been tied to protection, community, and standing with others.
In that spirit, all red yarns in the shop are 20% off through the end of February, both in-store and online.
If you’ve been meaning to knit a red hat—whether the Melt the Ice Hat or your own design—this is your nudge.
