Description
Seis Cabos (“six plies” in Spanish) is Malabrigo’s take on a light worsted, high-twist merino. Six strands are tightly plied together to create a round, springy yarn that feels soft in the hand and holds its shape well.
Spun from 100% super fine, non-superwash merino wool, Seis Cabos has a comfortable, lived-in feel with excellent elasticity. The round construction gives crisp stitch definition, so cables, twisted stitches, moss stitch, and simple ribbing all stand out cleanly. It works in a similar gauge range to Malabrigo Rios, but with a slightly lighter hand that’s easy to wear indoors or out.
Malabrigo’s signature hand-dyed palette shines on this base, from soft neutrals to rich tonals and playful multis. As with all hand-dyed yarns, color can vary from skein to skein; for larger projects, we recommend alternating skeins every few rows for a smooth blend.
Use Seis Cabos for:
- Everyday sweaters and cardigans
- Textured hats, mittens, and cowls
- Baby and kids garments and blankets
- Colorwork yoke pullovers and vests
- Cushions, throws, and other home accents
If you like the feel and look of Rios but want a non-superwash option with a touch more structure, Seis Cabos is a great yarn to explore.
