Zauberball® Crazy is one of Schoppel’s most loved sock yarns, known for its long color repeats, bold marled texture, and endlessly entertaining knitting experience.

Unlike the original Zauberball®, the Crazy version is made by dyeing two strands separately and then twisting them together. This creates a lively, heathered look with shifting colors that never pool the same way twice. The result is a self-striping yarn with depth, movement, and surprise in every skein — every project truly turns into its own piece of artwork.

Each 100-gram ball contains an impressive 459 yards (420m), making it perfect for socks, shawls, scarves, lightweight sweaters, and colorful accessories. The blend of superwash wool and biodegradable polyamide gives the yarn durability while still feeling soft and flexible in the hand.

Schoppel uses virgin wool from Patagonia, certified for origin, and pairs it with a specially developed biodegradable polyamide. Unlike standard nylon, this fiber can break down through natural composting processes in approximately five years, helping reduce long-term environmental impact.

Zauberball is also wound to be used from the outside of the ball, making it easy to cast on and start knitting right away.
