The Yarny Way Dispatch – September 2025

Another month has flown by, and wow—so much has happened in our little galaxy of stitches! From community giving to new products and classes, here’s a look back at August and a peek ahead at September.

Community Giving

Together, we collected more than 50 preemie hats for the UMC NICU! Thank you to everyone who contributed—you’re helping keep the tiniest babies in our community cozy and loved.

First Classes + Friday Craft & Chill

We hosted our first official class: Amigurumi with Sydney! Students created the sweetest critters, and our weekly Friday Craft & Chill sessions continue to be filled with laughter, projects, and good company.

The shop is starting to feel like a true creative hub, thanks to you.

KAL + CAL Bandanas

Our first “Mini” Knit-Along and Crochet-Along kicked off in August with Pufido’s Hollo Bandana (knit) and Salena Baca’s Granny Triangle Bandana (crochet). The weekly check-ins during Craft & Chill have been such a joy—check out these finished pieces! Final winners will be notified via email to claim their prize of either a Lumos Neck Light or a Lemonwood Yarn Minder!

Welcome to the Crew

We’re thrilled to welcome Nakira as our new part-time shop assistant! Together we made Emotional Support Chickens (what a hoot ✨). She’s also been working on a hexagon granny cardigan with Ella Rae Marmel Duo and a rustic doily in Nifty Cotton Chive. Stop by and say hi when you see her!

Marni Makes ✨

• Gallatin Scarf – one skein of Cascade Eco Alpaca, a quick knit that’s as soft as a cloud.
• Customer Teresa’s version – a dainty, smaller scarf from just 50g of Silky Merino. Both are gorgeous proof that fast projects can still feel luxurious.

September Classes + Events

Here’s what’s happening this month at The Yarny Way (full calendar below).

Weekly Craft & Chill – Every Friday afternoon, 3–6pm (RSVP online).

Stitch & Story Club (Online) – First ever online event!
We’ll listen to The Hobbit over the course of 7 days, with Day 1 and Day 7 together over Zoom on Sept 3 & 10, 6–9pm. 
Suggested theme project: There and Back Again Mitts, designed by Marni.
You’ll need 1 skein of Malabrigo Rios in Primavera and a set of US 6 DPNs. One skein makes two pairs!

Sock Knitting 101 with Jennifer – Sept 6 & 13, 4–6pm | Almost full!

Sundays with Joy

Haul of Fame ️✨

One of our favorite new traditions is celebrating your beautiful hauls! In August, we snapped photos of some especially stellar yarny treasures. Soon, you’ll also find them on our in-shop Haul of Fame board—because every Fibernaut is a star.
