Zigzag Knitted Throw Pattern

Zig Zag Knitted Throw

If you like repetition and have a lot of patience, this zigzag knitted throw pattern is perfect for you. The result is an heirloom to be treasured and used for years to come.

This zigzag knitted throw pattern is not a quick project so be warned. It is simple and repetitive, but you do need to pay attention. Dropping stitches can be difficult to repair… In my case I had one big booboo area, which resulted in a creative crocheted patch in the shape of my crocheted coaster to cover it… and then I got creative and added a few more motifs. That’s what I get for drinking wine when I knit 😉 You don’t have to do this of course. I promise, if you can stick with it, it’s beautiful and you’ll feel so good about it!

Finished size: Approx 42″ wide x 60″

Materials

  • Size US 11 circular needles
  • Lots of yarn – 2 strands of worsted weight yarn used throughout

You’ll need lots of yarn because this is a double stranded throw, so I would say at least 14 skeins altogether. I used 2 strands of worsted weight acrylic yarn. I used Lion Brand’s Vanna’s Choice in Taupe and Grey Marble.

The Zigzag Pattern
worked over a multiple of 16 stitches + 1 extra. (SK2P means Slip, K2 tog, pass slipped stitch over)

  • Row 1: (RS) K1, *YO, K6, SK2P, K6, YO, K1; repeat from * across
  • Row 2: Purl

Instructions

CO 129 stitches

K 3 rows.
