August at The Yarny Way

Summer may still be hanging around West Texas, but I’m already thinking about cooler weather, cozy projects, and the knitting season ahead. August is shaping up to be an exciting month with new classes, fresh yarn arriving, and a few changes around the shop.

As always, thank you for supporting this little yarn shop. Every order, every visit, every class, every review, and every conversation helps make The Yarny Way the welcoming community I hoped it could become.

Product Reviews = Better Shopping for Everyone

Well… no gift card winners this month!

Since no new product reviews were submitted during July, our two $25 gift cards will roll over into August waiting for some lucky reviewers.

Review and be entered to Win a $25 Gift Card each month!

If you’ve purchased yarn, tools, or books from The Yarny Way, I’d love to hear what you think. Your reviews help other makers choose colors, fibers, and tools with confidence.

Even better—you can now upload photos of your finished projects directly with your review!

Every product review earns one entry into our monthly drawing for two $25 gift cards.

King Cole Update

Firefly has been incredibly popular—thank you! Another shipment is already on the way, and backorders are now being accepted if your favorite color is currently unavailable.

I’m also excited about a brand-new King Cole yarn called Yummy. I already have a sample in the shop, and it’s every bit as soft as the name suggests. I will be accepting preorders soon! This will help me identify which of the many colors to bring in first.

Expedition #1 Complete!

Our very first Fibernaut Expedition was a success!

Congratulations to Cindy, Vivien, Natalie, Kyra, and me for making (or continuing to make!) our Ranunculus sweaters.

One of my favorite parts has been watching our Expedition board fill with photos and progress cards.

Thank you to everyone who joined our first adventure.

Up Next: Tremblant Toque KAL

Our August Expedition begins soon!

We’ll be knitting the beautiful Tremblant Toque, learning stranded colorwork techniques together in a relaxed, supportive environment.

August 16–26

Whether it’s your first colorwork project or your fiftieth, you’re welcome to join us. Sign up here.

Private Lessons

Private 1:1 knitting and crochet sessions continue to be available by appointment.

To give each student my full attention, I’m now limiting lessons to one person at a time. It creates a more relaxed learning experience and allows us to focus entirely on your project and goals.

Please book in advance so we can find a time that works well.

Looking Ahead to September

Two exciting events are already on the calendar.

🧦 Two-at-a-Time Toe-Up Socks Workshop

Learn to knit both socks at once from the toe up and never worry about second-sock syndrome again.

🧶 Hexagranny Cardigan CAL

Join us as we crochet this modern, colorful cardigan together one hexagon at a time.

Looking Toward Fall

As we begin preparing for cooler weather, you’ll notice a fresh look in the Mindful Matter tower.

Juniper Moon Farm

I’m excited to introduce three beautiful yarns from Juniper Moon Farm:

These yarns share the soft, natural feel that many of you already love while offering fresh colors and fibers for autumn projects.

I can’t wait to see what you’ll make with them.

Sunday Skills

One of the things I love most about our fiber community is how much we learn from one another.

Do you have a favorite technique, a clever trick, or a unique knitting or crochet style you’d enjoy sharing?

I’m looking for makers who would like to lead a structured Sunday afternoon demonstration or mini-class.

As a thank-you, you’ll receive 25% off one purchase in the shop after your presentation.

If that sounds like fun, send me a message. I’d love to hear your ideas.

A Personal Note

Many of you many know that I’m now running the shop on my own.

It’s certainly a busy season, but it’s also been incredibly encouraging to see so many familiar faces walk through the door, sign up for classes, share projects, and simply stop by to chat.

Every skein purchased, every class registration, every online order, every review, and every kind word helps keep this little shop growing.

Thank you for believing in what we’re building together.

I’m looking forward to another month of warm stitches, kind vibes, and making beautiful things with all of you.

See you soon,

Marni
