A unique crochet pattern for summer
Looking for a project to take on my vacation, I came across this free poncho crochet pattern published on BeautifulCrochetStuff.com, and set to work using all white cotton yarn. The result is a very pretty lightweight poncho that is perfect for summer days or nights. And the cost of the project? About $15!
My Materials and Measurements:
Yarn:Â Yarn Bee MIMOSA yarn from Hobby Lobby in White 3.5 oz 240 yards (62% cotton, 38% rayon)
Crochet Hook: 3.25 D3 from Joann.com
Stitches Used: ch-chain, sl st-slip stitch, sc-single crochet, dc-double crochet, tc-triple crochet, tc6tog – triple crochet 6 together
Motif: 5×5 in or 13×13 cm
Finished length: 15″ or 39 cm
Finished width when worn: 17″ or 45 cm
MOTIF (I made 21 — 3 rows of 7)
My notes: After you make the first motif, you start the second and begin to connect it in the fourth round of the motif, at 6Â points along each side. The diagram from BeautifulCrochetStuff.com helped me to figure this out, as it isn’t written anywhere in the crochet pattern.
I created a quick video on YouTube to show you the joining points if the diagram seems a little daunting to you.Â
